Services

In addition to service to the College and the University I am very much interested in issues of diversity, especially when it comes to student access to higher education.  I was a part of the Professdor In Residence (PIR) Program for almost 10 years.  During those ten years and in partnership with the office of admissions the PIR Program was successful in sigfnificantly increasing JMU's student diversity.   One day per week a JMU professor from the PIR Program would be present within a high school that was identified as high needs and as "at risk" meeting with students and encouraging them to consider applying to and enrolling in college.  This method often led students to take a look at and to apply at JMU, thus increasing admissions applications of students of color.
